Good morning, Lafayette πŸ’› There’s still time to join us in class today. If you’ve been craving a softer place to land… a moment to breathe… support for your body and nervous system… or simply a room where you don’t have to hold everything alone, I have space for you. My classes at Little Herbal Apothecary are intentionally small, grounded, and centered around the real needs of women. No pressure. No performance. Just thoughtful movement, calm support, and a welcoming community that feels more like a living room than a fitness studio. Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, moving through transition, or simply needing to reconnect with yourself, you are welcome here exactly as you are. I’ve called Lafayette home for over 20 years, and it’s an honor to create spaces where women can feel held, nourished, and seen. There are still a few spots available in today’s classes, and I’d truly love to welcome you. Want class details and scheduling info? Most people hear: “Drink more water.” …but very few people actually SEE what hydration needs look like during pregnancy and postpartum. So years ago, I started teaching hydration with pint glasses here in Colorado πŸΊπŸ˜‰ Because in a state full of microbreweries, people tend to understand the volume of a pint — even if they don’t drink beer. And honestly? Pregnancy, birth, and lactation are physically demanding seasons of life. Hydration supports: 🀍 milk production 🀍 digestion 🀍 energy 🀍 circulation 🀍 tissue healing 🀍 nervous system regulation 🀍 postpartum recovery Birth itself is dehydrating work. This is your gentle reminder to fill your cup — literally and figuratively. πŸ’¦ Read the full article in my Learning Library: https://www.annecatherineyoga.com/blog/hydration-during-pregnancy-postpartum #PostpartumWellness #PregnancyWellness #PrenatalYoga #PostpartumRecovery #BreastfeedingSupport #MaternalHealth #WomensHealth #PostpartumYoga #Hydration #ColoradoMoms

One thing I’ve realized over the years is how many women are never really taught how differently pregnancy changes heat tolerance. Not in a dramatic or fear-based way. Just in a very real, very physical way. Pregnancy already asks so much from the body: more blood volume, higher metabolic demands, increased hydration needs, circulation changes, and extra cardiovascular strain. Then summer heat gets added on top of that. Suddenly things that once felt easy can feel exhausting: walking through a parking lot, running errands midday, sitting outside in direct sun, even certain exercise classes or hot environments. And postpartum can feel just as intense in a different way: night sweats, breastfeeding thirst, healing, sleep deprivation, holding a warm baby against your chest in summer heat. One thing I especially wanted more mothers to know is how quickly babies can overheat too — especially in strollers, car seats, and covered spaces with poor airflow. Many parents lovingly use stroller covers without realizing how much heat can become trapped underneath, even on mild days. So I wrote a new article sharing practical, evidence-based, mom-to-mom guidance on: * staying cool during pregnancy & postpartum * signs of overheating * hydration + heat safety * stroller and car seat heat awareness * baby overheating signs * simple ways to support yourself during summer Because mothers deserve this kind of practical wisdom. Not to create fear. But to create support, awareness, gentleness, and care. And one reminder I keep coming back to lately: You do not need to earn rest by overheating first.
